Our Work CHOICE strives to serve as an "engine for change" to achieve a desired future state of health care, with four core areas of work: 1. Connect at-risk clients to services CHOICE Client Services help individuals and families connect to the services they need and learn how to navigate the health system. CHOICE doesn't take steps on behalf of our clients; we walk with them. Read more... 2. Regional Planning and Community Development CHOICE staff help shore up faltering services and develop new initiatives as needs arise. Their roles range from convening planning sessions to rolling up their sleeves to serve as loaned executives. CHOICE recognizes that our ability to help clients is only as effective as the local services available to meet their needs. As needs grow and resources dwindle, these services are becoming increasingly fragile, making our mission even more critical to the regional health system infrastructure. 3. Quality Improvement Initiatives Collaborative organizations like CHOICE create a unique opportunity to identify and address problems in the health system. Working together with our diverse members, we develop a comprehensive picture of the challenges we face in the region and coordinate approaches to address them. Read about our current initiatives... 4. Advocate for Health System Improvements Health care policy development happens at the largest levels of government, but ultimately impacts the way local providers serve local individuals. CHOICE has long been involved in local, state and national efforts to create a better health system for everyone. Read our effort to make sense of health reform in our community...
