VOLUNTEER AT CHOICE

CHOICE's vision is to create "better health for everyone at less cost." This vision wouldn't be possible without the help of our dedicated volunteers.

"I am passionate about being progressive in the health care system. I would like to be a part of strengthening it and making it accessible to all. That's why I volunteer at CHOICE." - Alysha, CHOICE volunteer

Work in Which We Incorporate Volunteers get involved

Prescription Assistance Program (PAP): The Prescription Assistance Program is a conduit through which pharmaceutical companies provide free or reduced-price medications to low-income, uninsured people. Volunteers work one-on-one with clients to determine eligibility and need, and to provide application assistance and advocacy.

Outreach and Public Relations: Volunteers raise awareness about our services and forge connections with those who need them by planning and carrying out educational and outreach activities.

Client Services Assistant: For many clients, application assistance is the determining factor in whether or not they receive health care, dental care, early disease detection, or food. Client Services Assistants use listening and motivational interviewing skills to help clients work through barriers that could prevent them from accessing the services and resources they need to be healthier.

Administrative Assistant: Administrative Assistants work on projects and tasks related to the day-to-day operations of CHOICE Regional Health Network. This includes but is not limited to entering data, creating publications, answering telephones, and filing.

Open Volunteer Opportunities

Currently, we have no open opportunities. Please check back occassionally, as our work and needs change often.

The Communities That We Serve
We proudly serve Grays Harbor, Lewis, Mason, Pacific, and Thurston counties in Southwest Washington. These counties are poorer than Washington State as a whole, with higher rates of uninsured and underinsured people. Most of the region is rural with geographical barriers as well as limitations in key health care capacities, such as primary care providers, mental health services, and dental care for low-income residents.
