CHOICE will be sponsoring a 3-part virtual series about the impact and origins of mental health stigma in our local communities. A panel of passionate individuals will discuss the impacts of substance use and mental health stigma in their work and its origins from the perspectives of public defense, medical/dental services, mental health counseling, as well as advocacy for community well-being, meeting basic needs, and community members with conviction histories. Day 1 will cover the impacts of stigma (June 24, 10:30am – Noon). Day 2 will discuss the origins of stigma (June 25, 10:00 – 11:30am).
